BATTERY TIPS

For your information here are some tips I give to my customers who purchase a new battery:

ALWAYS:
  1. Charge your new battery for 24 hours before use. New batteries can require up to six uses/charges before reaching optimum performance.
  2. Re-charge your battery immediately after every use – regardless of how many holes you have played.
  3. Charge in a well ventilated area away from heat source or direct sunlight.
  4. When not in use for extended periods top-up charge once a month.
  5. There is no need to keep your battery on constant charge. Charge for 8 to 10 hours then switch off, this can help safeguard against damage if your charger should develop a fault.
DO NOT:
  1. Leave the battery in a discharged condition.
  2. Discharge the battery other than through normal use on your trolley. This may damage the battery and result in reduced life and performance.
  3. Overload your trolley.
  4. Drop the battery, this will result in damage.
FACTORS WHICH MAY AFFECT BATTERY LIFE:
  1. Bag weight.
  2. Number of rounds per week.
  3. Course length and condition.
  4. Charging regime – additionally chargers can develop faults and should be professionally tested every year.
  5. Age and condition of trolley and components – e.g. seized/over tight wheels, worn motor, loose or broken battery connections.
  6. Temperature.
