Well, the golf season is getting underway particularly in the warmer climate countries anyway while we struggle getting through the wet, cold and wind. Hopefully this is at an end and we have got over it and are moving towards the warmer drier weather and we can all get out golfing again.
With new equipment coming out for us to try and buy following success on tour with the latest drivers and irons in particular but a whole abundance of new gear to choose from. We all think that by getting the latest driver that we can somehow cut our handicap which may work for the short term, this normally is associated with the good feeling of purchasing something newer and better. The correct long term way to improve would be to have lessons with your local golf professional who can then also advise you on the equipment best suited to you.
For some of the golf courses in Somerset/Devon borders there is going to be a lot of time to get over this period due to being totally flooded by as much as 4/5 feet of water and like the farmers just the water disappearing is only the beginning. The grass and earth are going to need to recover and grow again which is where the real work starts and will take a lot of time to get back to its original state. Because of this golfers will move to places where they can play and so the business will suffer and all we can hope is that they can get through that period too until business gets back to normal as well.
Here's wishing all those businesses and golf courses good luck and hope you all get back to normal as soon as possible.
